Getting it running
- What if we do not have an automated phone system?
- The link on your website works on its own and is the faster half to set up. If you add an auto attendant later, the phone option drops into it without changing anything else.
- Which practice management systems does it work with?
- VetShare integrates with the system you already run, which is what lets it answer without a person in the loop. Tell us what you use and we will confirm where it stands.
- Is there anything for our team to log into?
- Yes, a console for the practice: your verified number, the inbox records arrive at, the subscription, and a count of what moved in and out. It is a settings page, not somewhere anyone has to sit.
- Does this change how our front desk works?
- Only by subtraction. There is no new screen in the day, and nothing for staff to remember. The workflow they notice is the one that stops happening.
For your clients
- Do our clients need an account or a portal login?
- No. That is the whole design. Portals get announced once and then forgotten, so VetShare asks for the phone number you already have on file and a one word reply.
- What if the owner never replies?
- Nothing is sent. The request expires on its own, and your team can see that it came in, so a client who says they never got their records has an answer waiting.
- What if the number on file is out of date?
- Then nothing is released, because the confirmation never comes back. The request still shows up on your side, which is usually the first time anyone finds out the number is stale.
- Does the pet owner pay anything?
- No. Owners never pay to get their own records, and neither does the clinic on the other end of a request.
Consent and safety
- Can another hospital get records without the owner involved?
- No. The owner always confirms, in the network or out of it. What membership changes is the destination: once the owner approves, the records go straight to the practice that asked instead of to the owner's inbox for them to forward on.
- Can a caller send records to any address they like?
- No. The destination comes from the record, not from the caller. A caller can start a request. The only other place records can go is a verified member practice, resolved from the network rather than from anything typed in.
- What does the text actually say?
- It names the pet and names whoever asked, and nothing else. The records are never in the message, so a wrong number cannot become a disclosure.
- Do we have a record of what was released?
- Every release is logged with its request, its confirmation and its destination. The paper trail builds itself instead of living in someone's sent folder.
The network
- What does membership get us?
- Requests to your practice are answered without a call, and the requests you make to other members come back the same way. Direct clinic to clinic delivery only happens between members.
- What about a boarding facility or a groomer?
- They can ask like anyone else. The records follow the owner confirmation path and land in the owner's inbox, which is where they were headed anyway.
- What does it cost?
- Membership is billed to the practice, and only to the practice. Owners never pay, and neither does whoever is on the other end of a request. Get in touch for current pricing.
